Bideford to Westward Ho and Clovelly

Mud, mud and yet more mud over these past couple of days which makes for tough slow walking and we both fell over a couple of times . Never seen mud like this before and looking forward to the sun coming out and hopefully drying it up a bit !

Great coastal scenery though , up and down and up and down and then up and down some more. Ended up in Clovelly ( wow gorgeous village Main Street which is cobbled with no vehicle access … check out the photos) where it was wonderful to be collected by Pat ( Paul’s friend from college days) and taken back to his and Anne’s farm , great cider and supper around the big wooden table with lots of laughs ! also drying muddy boots out and getting clothes washed! Today will be pure luxury as we will be heading on to Hartland minus our packs and just taking a day pack as Pat will again collect us and bring us back for another night in a comfy bed and superb hospitality . Tough days walking , the guide calls them challenging can think of several other words that better describe them!

End of the line

We made it to the finish post , 650 miles from Minehead to South Haven Point . It was so special to have Cherry, Jolly and Peter joining us for the last days walking . Many thanks to all those people
